It's time for the Stride National Cook Off!

For 6th–12th Grade Students 

At Stride, we know how creative young people can be. If cooking is one of your creative talents, we want to see your skills. Any student in grades 6–12 can sign up. The top five semi-finalists from the first round will go on to compete in the Stride National Cook Off.  

The Stride National Cook Off will take place via Zoom on June 16th, 2022 at 12:00 PM (ET).

Eligibility  
Students in 6th through 12th grade are eligible to participate. Students who are 13 years of age or younger will need their parent to submit on their behalf.  

Judging and Winners  
A panel of judges will review all competition entries.   
Five winners will proceed to the Live Stride National Cook Off via Zoom on June 16th,  2022 at 12:00 PM (ET).  

Judging Criteria 
The panel of judges will evaluate entries based on the following criteria: 
• Presentation (30%) 
• Nutritional value - how healthy is the recipe (30%) 
• Creativity (30%) 
• Completed in time amount allotted (10%) 

Entry Requirements 
Students must create a dish or dessert following these specific guidelines:
• All entries must be homemade and the work of the person making the entry. 
• The dish must be prepared within 45 minutes from prep to plating. 
• All competitors must have an adult proctor present during the competition that can verify upon submission that all rules and requirements were followed. 

All recipes must be made using at least four of the following main ingredients: 
• Cranberries
• Kale
• Quinoa
• Protein (of your choosing)
• Pear
• Carrot
• Starch (of your choosing)
• Gouda
• Greek yogurt
• Horseradish

And any of the following pantry staples: 
• Flour (or gluten-free substitute) 
• Milk (or lactose-free option) 
• Egg 
• Butter 
• Oil (of your choosing) 
• Sugar (of your choosing) 
• Salt 
• Pepper 
• Any other spices
• Condiments

The top five competitors will get the chance to compete in the Live Stride National Cook Off held via Zoom on June 16th, 2022 at 12:00 PM (ET). 

Students who are 13 years of age or younger will need their parent to submit on their behalf. 

Submission Requirements 
When you’re ready to submit, fill out the below registration form. After you’ve uploaded your submission, please save your original work in case further documentation is needed.  

Students will be required to submit: 
• A photo of the completed dish prepared
        • Recipe and the list of ingredients used
• A description of why you chose to make that dish
• Nutritional value of the dish 
• Amount of time required to prepare the dish from prep to plating 
• Only one entry per person is permitted

Deadline for Entries 
All entries can be submitted as of 9:00 AM (ET) on March 15th, 2022 and must be received no later than 5:00 PM (ET) on April 25th, 2022. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be eligible to win. This National Cook Off Competition is open to any student in 6th-12th grade!
